Snowflake Data Engineer (Switzerland – Zurich or Geneva, Hybrid/Remote Options)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build, and operate robust data pipelines and deliver high-quality data products. You will play a key role in supporting analytics and AI initiatives by leveraging the Snowflake platform to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate data pipelines on Snowflake.

  • Implement governed semantic layers for analytics use cases.

  • Ensure security, observability, and cost optimization across data solutions.

  • Deliver end-to-end data products, including extraction, transformation, loading, testing, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective solutions.

  • Contribute to best practices in data governance, quality, lineage, and incident response.

  • Support CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code for scalable delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake:

  • Data modeling and ingestion (e.g., Snowpipe, tasks).

  • Performance tuning (micro-partitioning, clustering).

  • Governance (RBAC, masking, row/column policies).

  • Data sharing and cost management.

  • Proficient in SQL and a modern transformation framework (e.g., dbt or equivalent).

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), IaC (Terraform), and pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

  • Strong practices for data quality, lineage, and security.

  • Excellent communication skills for requirement gathering and solution design.

  • Fluency in English; for Zurich-based roles, German is required; for Geneva-based roles, French is required.
